February 27, 2024We’ll need to inspect onsite to determine the cause of your leak. Flat roof outlet drains can leak due to improper installation methods. Unfortunately, it’s all too common for a lower flat roof to leak where the roof meets the house wall. This juncture must be made watertight with properly installed counter flashing. Unskilled roofers may lay flashing vertically against your house wall and simply caulk the top edge, or only cut a very shallow rivet into the wall which is still dependent on caulk to prevent water entry. As soon as the caulk shrinks or cracks, water runs down behind the flashing and under your flat roof. In most cases, your flashing can be replaced and installed correctly by our skilled craftsmen without harming the integrity of your new roof membrane.
