While algae growth doesn’t do damage to slates, it can be aesthetically unattractive especially on a front roof like this one. The homeowner wanted a cleaner appearance. We applied a gentle cleaner that works over time with rainfall, thus avoiding slate damage and leaks. Three applications over an 18 month period, and the beauty of the existing slate shines for all to see! After the roof was clean we installed a copper ridge roll to the peaks. This will help to keep the entire roof permanently free of algae.
